Don't Let AEP get a bailout

Despite already being denied once, AEP is again at the Public Utility Commission of Ohio (PUCO) trying get a bailout for the company’s old, dirty coal plants.

AEP's Kyger Creek coal plant

You helped stop them before; now, we have to do it again.

Previously, AEP requested a bailout of two plants it partially owns to the tune of a $117 million rate increase. After thousands of public comments and widespread public and business opposition, the PUCO rightfully refused AEP’s request earlier this year. Undaunted, AEP now wants an even larger coal plant bailout to include those same two uneconomic plants plus an additional four more coal plants that are struggling to compete against cheaper, cleaner options.

Tell the PUCO you still want no part in bailing out AEP’s old, dirty coal plants.
