Dominion: Stop building fossil fuel power plants that threaten our health!

Dominion bills keep going up, but our energy is not getting much cleaner.

Dominion Energy is using data centers as an excuse to build new expensive, fossil fuel power plants. And they are allowed to pass on nearly 110% of those construction costs to customers. New power plants are not the only additional costs to our electric bills. Customers will also have to pay for the construction of infrastructure that delivers the electricity to data centers like new transmission lines and electric substations.

Dominion's decision to double down on fossil fuel infrastructure instead of pursuing renewable energy options is wrong for utility customers and our state. Sign our petition demanding that Dominion Energy Inc. listen to its customers and its community, saving us money and improving our health, instead of trying to squeeze every penny out of us to maximize shareholder profits.

As a resident of Virginia who cares about the health and well-being of my community, I call on Dominion Energy Inc. to commit to transitioning its power generation to renewable energy sources. All people deserve to live in a safe and healthy neighborhood, with clean air to breathe, and expanding our grid with even more fossil fuel plants is a direct threat to the lives of my friends and neighbors. It is time for Dominion to act. My community is working to transition away from harmful fossil fuels and towards an energy system that supports healthy and vibrant communities where all people can thrive. This is not possible as long as dirty fossil fuel plants remain open. Please take action to begin transitioning to clean energy to protect our communities. Thank you.
