I am #ReadyFor100 Percent Clean Energy!

I want our mayor and city leaders to create a pathway to 100% clean and renewable energy for our city by the year 2050. Across our country and the world, clean energy is replacing outdated and dangerous fossil fuels for a more positive future. The need for our city to become 100 percent clean and renewable energy will help create jobs, boost our economy and provide for a healthier community. A recent economic study estimated that a transition to clean energy will add one million jobs in the U.S. by 2030 and increase household disposable income by $350-$400 in 2030 and by as much as $650 in 2050. Michael Brune, Sierra Club's Executive Director, stated that “This year, clean energy prices have dropped so fast that in many places around the country that it’s now less expensive to power homes and businesses with wind or solar than with coal, oil or gas. When the cleanest option is also the cheapest option, there’s no longer any reason to keep using the fuels of the past.” San Diego, the country's eighth largest city, just passed the strongest clean energy law of any major city in the U.S. It is time for Ohio to lead the way in the Midwest area. We deserve clean air, good jobs, and strong leadership. I’m ready for 100% clean energy!
