As you are aware, ARPA provides funds to help local communities respond to and recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposed project of installing solar panels on parking lots with EV chargers and battery backups for our community center aligns with the objectives of the ARPA funds. This project will not only promote the use of renewable energy, but it will also provide EV owners with the convenience of charging their vehicles at the community center. Additionally, the battery backups will ensure that power is available during power outages, which will be beneficial for our community members who may need to access the center for critical services. Furthermore, the project will reduce the carbon footprint of the community center, which will help Lakewood to achieve its sustainability goals. By promoting clean energy, the project will contribute to improving air quality, which will have a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community. In conclusion, I believe that this project is an excellent use of ARPA funds and will benefit the community in several ways. I strongly urge you to support this project and allocate the necessary funds to make it a reality.
